Ganguly thinks in retrospect he should have picked VVS for 2003 world cup

Ganguly thinks in retrospect he should have picked VVS for 2003 world cup.
Well at least he has shown the maturity to say this.  Better late than never.

So, VVS quits with some frustration

My prediction has come true !

Well, better late than never.... As mentioned in my previous posts, if I were VVS, I would have quit long back.

Telugu Channels are saying that VVS got a call from a senior BCCI official & pressured him for retirement. And that HURT him a lot. Here is a link of the article which shows what might have happened
http://daily.bhaskar.com/article/SPO-inside-story-what-forced-a-disappointed-vvs-laxman-to-hang-his-boots-3668757-NOR.html

pls refer to his wife comment, by clicking on below link

Its common sense --- Any one would like to say bye to fans at his home ground. It's clear something has happened. Also, in preparation for tests he has recently hit 2 centuries in some well known tournaments with in last 15 days.

I request VVS to write a biography & tell to the whole world.... about politics of BCCI. But, I doubt it, as he is a true gentlemen.

VVS - IMO u will be made scapegoat

Its my guess that VVS will be make scapegoat for the drubbing in Australia of Indian team.... As per my old posts, If I were VVS, I would have long back walked out of Indian team. I hope I am proven wrong & selectors keep faith in VVS & give him a decent send off.

Irrespective of what happens to VVS, INDIA has reached the peak in cricket....its downside from here on & this is my guess. With the batting greats retirement around the corner...the slide of Indian cricket is so easy to see.

Also, Dhoni will get lot of heat for the drubbing against aussies & he may quit Test cricket. This is my guess.

I have to give credit where its due--- hats off to aussies for the great bowling. Its high class & high quality bowling. Long live TEST cricket....its a pleasure to watch.

Confirmation from VVS -- from 2007 his INSECURITY is gone

Just wanted to post that " my analysis " has been officially confirmed by VVS himself. Here is the article

http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/special-videos/selection-committee-boosted-our-confidence-vvs-laxman_504578.html

So basically VVS said that -- the INSECURITY feeling about his place in the team was always there during GANGULY & DRAVID's captaincy. The INSECURITY went away from when ANIL KUMBLE took over captaincy & then followed by MS DHONI.

Lesson of Karma for Ganguly & Dravid -- you try to screw career of a very good cricketer called VVS -- everyone knows what happened to Ganguly & even Dravid had to suffer and eventually dropped from ODI side. If you do bad deeds knowingly -- what goes around comes around -- that's the greatness of Karma principle.

In 2007 WC most of the same players were there and what happened ?? I hope the selectors wake up & hope SACHIN's dream also comes true...

Here r two questions that were asked to VVS & his answers... IMAGINE how VVS would have performed if he had been given the SECURED feeling before 2007 ??? It's INDIA'S loss not to utilize VVS potential to fullest.

Q: The last couple of years I think starting 2009 you have been on song, isn't it? And I have read somewhere that you said that it is because you have enjoyed being in the cricket environment more than you have ever in the rest of your career. What has changed and who are you attributing the change to?
A: I think I have really enjoyed since 2007, since Anil Kumble took over as captain because before that probably there was lot of insecurity in me..
Q: About your place in the team?
A: About my place in the side even though I was doing so well. I think since Anil took over as captain he gave me the confidence that I was a very important member of the side and then that continued with Gary and MS Dhoni as captain and coach and I think since 2007 the atmosphere in the dressing room has been unbelievable and we are more like a family and we enjoyed each others company. So it creates a space, they created a space where we can go out and perform to the best of our abilities and not think about the things which are not in our control.
Also probably the selection committee also helped because the selection committee chaired by Srikanth has helped, they gave the confidence to just go out and play to our fullest potential and not think about the selection and other matters. Gary says, preparation is very important and you should not think too much about the result, as long as you prepare hard for each and every test match. And that’s what I have done, I have prepared hard; It’s not like I had not done before but I have prepared really hard for each and every test match and just backed my game plan and enjoyed my cricket in the last 2.5 years.

VVS was top run getter in 2004 ODI's & by 2005 he was taken out

here is the proof
http://www.rediff.com/cricket/2004/sep/07award.htm

Shame on BCCI, Ganguly & Dravid.

Everyone knows how India performed in 2007 World cup.

Ganguly screwed VVS Laxman's ODI Career and tried to screw VVS Test Career too

IN MY OPINION

- Ganguly should have supported VVS Laxman's inclusion in the last World cup when he was in great form. Great Capatins support the right player through thick & thin. Ganguly under Dalmiya could have done it if he wanted to. But, he did not & supported Mongia. Now everyone knows how talented Mongia is when compared to VVS. Of course I knew how talented VVS was & is, but Ganguly had other toughts.

- Ganguly also tried screwing VVS Laxman career in Tests too

In the famous Greg Chappell leaked e-mail to BCCI --- Greg mentioned how Mr. GANGULY tried to screw up VVS Laxman Test career.

Now why would Greg Chappell lie about that fact --- that too in a written e-mail? Here is the link to that e-mail & the text that supports the arguement
http://www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?NewsID=3277

"At the completion of the Test match I was approached by VVS Laxman with a complaint that Sourav had approached him on the eve of the Test saying that I had told Sourav that I did not want Laxman in the team for Test matches. I denied that I had made such a remark to Sourav, or anybody else for that matter, as, on the contrary, I saw Laxman as an integral part of the team. He asked how Sourav could have said what he did. I said that the only way we could go to the bottom of the matter was to speak to Sourav and have him repeat the allegation in front of me.
I arranged for a meeting with the two of them that afternoon. The meeting took place just after 6pm in my room at the Rainbow Hotel in Bulawayo. I told Sourav that Laxman had come to me complaining that Sourav had made some comments to Laxman prior to the Test. I asked Sourav if he would care to repeat the comment in my presence. Sourav then rambled on about how I had told him that I did not see a place for Laxman in one-day cricket, something that I had discussed with Sourav and the selection panel and about which I had spoken to Laxman at the end of the Sri Lankan tour.
Sourav mentioned nothing about the alleged conversation regarding Laxman and Test cricket even when I pushed him on it later in the discussion. As we had to leave for a team function we ended the conversation without Sourav adequately explaining his comments to Laxman."

I'm betting that yes Ganguly would have said that...Why don't these pathetic media --- who want to make some money & have no character -- ask this question to Ganguly / Greg / Laxman / BCCI & prove how great/pathetic GANGULY is?????

-I'm & I was very happy for the rough treatment Ganguly got in the last 1-2 years. He deserved it for what he did to some careers. The only 2 players he supported through thick & thin were 'Yuvraj & Kaif'. That's it. That too just because of one great knock in England in that Natwest Finals.

People can tell & blindly support Ganguly -- the fact is & the fact was when he was kicked out of the team --- he was a liability in the team for over 2 years, not scoring runs against main teams, playing politics, just doing a PR job.

Now with the way he is playing, yes Ganguly deserves his place in Indian cricket team. That arrogance (beacuse of Dalmiya support) is gone. I have never seen a fitter & determined Ganguly than now.

In my next post --- I will give my view of why Ganguly is NOT great captain to me --- I should be clear in saying he started well as a captain, but then ....
